Saves and Progress

Games on Arcadible save your progress on your device, in the browser or in the Arcadible desktop app. Arcadible doesn't currently store saves in your account.

Saves and updates

Games that use Arcadible's saves keep your progress when they're updated: Arcadible keeps it for the game, on your device, from one version to the next. A game that keeps progress its own way can start fresh after an update. Some of those carry progress themselves, through the developer's own accounts or servers.

When a save doesn't carry over

You'll start fresh, or see older progress, when you play:

  • A new version of some games. See Saves and updates.
  • On another device, or in another browser. Each one keeps its own saves.
  • In the desktop app after the browser, or the other way round. The desktop app keeps saves separately from your browsers.
  • In a private or incognito window. Its saves are deleted when you close it.

If you play a game in two tabs at once, the tab that saves last is the one that's kept.

When a save is deleted

  • Clearing your browser's data, such as cookies and site data, for Arcadible or for every site, deletes every game's saves in that browser.
  • Safari deletes a site's data after seven days without a visit, so if you haven't played on Arcadible in Safari for a week, games can start fresh.
  • Low storage: a browser can delete saves when the device runs short of space.
  • Uninstalling the desktop app on Windows deletes its saves. See Windows.

Keep your progress

  • Play on one device, in one browser or the desktop app, for games you play over many sessions.
  • Use the game's own account or cloud save, if it has one.
  • Ask the developer whether their game keeps progress between versions. Their page is linked from the store page.

Arcadible can't recover a lost save, since it never had a copy.
