Your Profile
Your profile is how you appear on Arcadible: your name, your handle, a tagline and a bio, a link to your homepage, and three images: a profile picture, a background, and a poster. Edit it in Settings ▸ Profile, on arcadible.com or in the Arcadible desktop app. Preview shows the result as you type.
Fields
| Field | What it is | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Your name, as others see it | 30 characters |
| Handle | Your name in links: @star-pilot | 3 to 24 lowercase letters, numbers, and single hyphens |
| Tagline | A line under your name | 30 characters |
| Bio | A few sentences about you | 180 characters |
| Homepage | A link to your own site | An https:// address, up to 255 characters |
A handle starts and ends with a letter or number. Without a name, your page shows your handle. Without either, it shows "Untitled Profile".
Your images
Upload beside Profile picture, Background, or Poster takes a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image, up to 5 MB. It takes a few seconds to check, then replaces the old one; there's nothing to save.
- Any size works. Each image is cropped from its center to fit where it's shown: the profile picture to a square, the background to a wide frame behind your page, and the poster to a tall 2:3 frame. Arcadible may show your poster to feature you. An image already that shape keeps what you see.
- "That file isn't a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image." means the file's contents aren't the kind of image its name says. Save it again as one of those types, and upload that.
- You can upload up to 20 images an hour.
- Replacing an image removes the old one. It stops showing within a few minutes, though a browser that already loaded it may keep it for a while.
Your handle
Your handle gives you a page at arcadible.com/@<handle>. Until you choose one, you don't have a page, and View your page doesn't appear in the account menu.
- Each handle is unique. "That handle is taken." means another account has it, or Arcadible has reserved it.
- You can change your handle at any time, but you can't remove it once it's set.
- Changing it breaks links to your old handle.
arcadible.com/@<old handle>stops working, and another account can then take that handle.
Your page
Your page at arcadible.com/@<handle> shows your profile, a Homepage button if you've added one, and your public games, if you publish any. Edit profile on your own page opens your settings.
Anyone with the link can open your page.
Public or unlisted
Your profile starts Unlisted: anyone with its link can open your page, but it isn't in search. Choose Public under Visibility in Settings ▸ Profile, then Save, and players can find you in the store's search. Choose Unlisted again at any time.
- Public needs a name, a profile picture, and a handle. Until you have all three, Public can't be chosen, and the line under it says what's missing.
- "A public profile needs a name. Make it unlisted first." means you've cleared your name while your profile is public. Make it unlisted, or give it a name.
- Publishing a public game doesn't make your profile public. Only you do.
What other people see
- Public: your profile, the games you've liked, the number of games you've liked and played, and the games you've published.
- Private: your email address, and which games you've played. See Your Library.
See the Privacy Policy for everything Arcadible keeps, and who can see it.
For developers
Your profile is also your developer page: your public games are listed on it, and each game's store page links to it. See Going Public.
